Landmarks and Curiosities
While food lovers will certainly find joy in the fine cuisine of Burgundy, the region offers far more than just gastronomy and good wine.
It is a true treasure trove of history, dotted with remarkable, majestic, and sometimes one-of-a-kind landmarks.
From Tonnerre, where the astonishing Fosse Dionne draws the eye, to the mysterious Château de Maulnes with its rare pentagonal design, every village has its own charm, its own story, its own unique character.
Many still boast their original washhouses—living witnesses to a bygone daily life.
Some, like Gigny, surprise visitors with truly unique sights, such as its twisted spire, the only one of its kind in the Yonne.
Others transport you to another time, with cobbled streets seemingly frozen in history, steeped in memory.
Let yourself be carried away by these places. Discover the region’s rich heritage, and listen to the stories and legends that bring our beautiful land to life.
